Obi Wan's hairstyles
Obi Wan Kenobi's style has evolved throughout the Star Wars films, and his hair is no exception. However, I would describe some styles as "more successful" than others.
Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 3 Long Hair
- Name:Mid-length left side part.
- Seem to be: Low
- Halt: Average
- Long: Average
- Formality: Low to Medium
- Key elements:The subtle release of the hairdo and the longer length on the sides and back.
- Original inspiration hair type:Ewan McGregor appears to have fine hair.
- Essential empfohlenes Produkt:Matte and medium hold likePasta Matte Shear Revival Northern Lights (Links to Amazon)
Obi Wan's ultimate hairstyle, which he wore in Episode 3, is amedium-length left side part with longer sides, medium hold and low shine. This results in a low to medium formal hairstyle defined by a subtle looseness.
The change from a chaotic style to a more structured style represents his character's change from a Padawan apprentice to a Jedi master and military general.
What else,a 1999 studysuggested that the side you part your hair has an impact“Perceived Personality Traits, Self-Awareness, and Self-Development”.
The theory is that part of theleft sideof the head draws unconscious attention to activities typically associated with masculinity: discipline, productivity, and reasoning.
On the other hand oneright partit is intended to convey more typically female characteristics such as creativity and emotion.
In other words, according to this study, parting the hair to the left,They're constantly emitting Jedi mind tricks!
Here's how you get the look
In my opinion the defining element of this hairstyle is that it is on the longer side, especially on the sides and back.
Consequently, in order to get this hairstyle, you need to grow your hair out until you have it3.5-4" on top and 1.5-2" on sides and backwhatever you get to last.
After that, you will probably want or need to go to the hairdresser to get groomed. At this point, ask them to keep the length of the top or side and back the same, whichever length is right, and trim the other part to the required length.
For example, if I managed to grow my sides to 1.5 inches but was 5 inches up due to my old hairstyle, I let the barber leave the sides and let me drop about 1 inch up to 4 inches.
In order to bring the hair as close to the hairstyle as possible during this styling, I would ask her to blend the top section on the sides and trim the hair with scissors. Also, for general grooming, it's always a good idea to ask your barber to trim the split ends.
And as always, I recommend bringing a photo so it's 100% clear what you're looking for.
- Wet your hairwith water.
- If you got one that you swear byApply your pre-styling product. If you're like me and have fine hair, reach outAveda Verdickendes Tonicto give the end result an increase in thickness.
- Emulsify while the hair is still slightly dampa matte product with medium/high hold, and apply to hair from root to tip and push back. I guessPasta Fosca Northern Lights da Shear Revivalperfect for a natural, healthy matte finish with medium hold.
- With a good combfind a natural hair parting on your head, and part the hair and slick it back and to the sides. my absolutelyFavorite comb (of all time) is by Percy Nobleman.
- I would recommend working with your fingersComb the hair in the directionwhen using ahair dryerat high speed and medium heat to speed up the drying process and activate the products.
- If necessary, brush the sides of the hair backwards with aHair brush, and make the separation more final. I have usedDenman's hairbrushfor more than 10 years; In fact, my mom even uses one she's had since I was born! You might also want to pull the hair down slightly to get the diagonal flop that Kenobi practices.

Using the above cut and style instructions and the products I recommend (yes, I have and use, surprise!) I've achieved the following:
In my opinion,This result is fantastic and has an accuracy of 90%(Remember that getting the exact same hairstyle is almost impossible for many reasons: your hair will even change slightly from scene to scene!)
In the original reference photo for this style, it may have a bit more on the sides, but not too much. But as you can see, the sides are definitely long enough and elegantly "foamed" like the original. Also, my hair is pretty straight on top and has a slight camber between the top and sides instead of being slicked all the way back.
One thing I skipped was going to the barber to get it fixed as my hair was just the perfect length on top and on the sides. This leaves me with a few split ends, which I usually fix by trimming the ends of my hair, and the hair at the nape of my neck isn't perfectly styled like in the film.
Oh, and I part my hair to the right since my hair naturally splits there (it looks like a trash compactor if I do it the other way).
Obi Wan Kenobi Episode 2 Long Hair
In Episode 2, Obi Wan wore a mullet, sort of...
But it's not the 1980s anymore, so I wouldn't recommend trying to replicate that and would urge you to stick with episode three's style.
Obi Wan's beard and grooming
The beard from episode 3 of Obi Wan
Obi Wan's beard is referred to simply as "full beard" - there is no specific distinction.
The main thing is that it is well maintained.
Just like Obi Wan, make sure any beard you grow is well-groomed—it shows you're in complete control of your appearance.
Here's how you get the look
To get anything like Obi Wan's beard, you have toInvest in a good beard trimmer or razor, and clean your hackles regularly.
To find the line you should shave, place your index finger on the lower left jawbone and while maintaining pressure on the skin, draw a line down to the lower right jawbone.
You should notice your finger curling around your neck.
Trimming excess hair below this line not only makes you look slimmer but also gives your jaw the illusion of being stronger.
If you can't control the hair on your face, how can you control the strength?
Here are some good tips abouthow to grow a beard.
Clothing and style of Obi Wan Kenobi
While we see him in mundane, unidentifiable attire, there are a few style cues we can borrow from Kenobi that serve a purpose, at least a semi-functional one.
light earth tones
Obi-Wan is a quiet, confident character.
His style shows this - more specifically his use oflight earth tones like ecru.
Though the bright color isn't good camouflage in most tactical situations, Obi-Wan is so confident in his abilities that he doesn't think he needs it.
It's almost as if he wants to be seen, as he believes his presence will instill fear in his enemy.
Also, in this special Clone Wars outfit, he wears armor similar to what he commands in the Clone Trooper Legions.
Choosing to imitate part of the uniform of those who serve him shows his character's humbleness.
He relates to his subordinates and does not give himself a more important position.
From this we can learn a few things:
- Dressingclean and clear earth tonesis an exceptional opportunitymake every outfit shine.
- Not overdress or overdresspeople to the point where you alienate them.
- You don't have to dress more drastic than subordinates to convey authority - the way you act and your leadership should be the main indicator of ranking.
a built chest
Obi-Wan's style throughout the films is characterized by strong, structured shoulders.
This creates a V-shape, enlarges the breasts and is a classic indicator of strength and masculinity.
Additionally, the V-shape of the neck opening and the contrasting earthy brown add visual interest to the area and draw attention to the face.
Here's how you get the look
The most effective method is to train the chest and shoulder muscles so that it no longer looks like a V - it actually is!
However, you can create the effect by adding visual volume by wearing any type of jacket with structured shoulders.
You can wear some clothing around your neck, e.g. B. a scarf to draw attention to your face.
This is the perfect item to try and could become a defining feature of your style.
Even if the weather doesn't justify any of the above, a well-fitting V-neck t-shirt should do the trick.
Obi Wan Kenobi accessories
"Don't mix your metals."
This general style rule refers to not mixing metallic colors in your outfit, e.g. B. a gold watch paired with a silver belt buckle.
Admittedly, Obi Wan maintained this general rule in his first two.
But rules were made to be broken.
While you're unlikely to walk around with a lightsaber on a daily basis, there are many ways to incorporate two tones into your outfit.
ÖThe easiest way to do this is through jewelry, such as brass and silver cufflinks or a bracelet.
These are one-of-a-kind pieces that make a statement without attracting too much attention—Jedi-style.
To bered boots
Something I've always noticed about Obi-Wan's style is his burgundy boots.
They are amazing.
Since both of Obi Wan's actors arrive at 5ft 8, the boots might as well give them...higher ground.
But you have to be pretty confident to wear tall boots in this day and age.
The good news is that there are contemporary alternatives, like these gorgeous Chelsea Boots fromThomas Vogel.
Burgundy is an underused color in menswear, especially when it comes to shoes.
If you incorporate burgundy shoes into your ensemble, I can almost guarantee you a flood of additions.
So now you know how to dress like Obi Wan Kenobi: we've covered Obi Wan's beard and hair, and how he uses his clothing to project power and authority.
By imitating his styleorbecome more authoritarian and valued.
And who doesn't want that?
“We called it the sort of Jedi mullet,” McGregor said. “It could be in some second-degree way a little cool, but not really. It was very mullet-y and sort of quite inspired pretty much by the Bee Gees, I think really. Jedi Bee Gees. What is Obi-Wan Kenobi's hair color? ›
