Specific goals are goals that have clear and well-defined goals.
studies show[1]that you are three times more likely to achieve those goals when you set your goals precisely. It's an even higher indicator of success thanintrinsicMotivation.
To make your goals more concrete, write down what you will look like when you reach your goal. You can write functions like:
- Erathe goal looks like when it is achieved
- Andis achieved
- Woyou will do it
- Asyou will get there
- BecauseDo you want to achieve this goal?
Similar to the study cited above[1], the research participants were asked to write the following:
"Over the next week, I will do at least 20 minutes of vigorous exercise on [DAY] at [TIME] at [LOCATION]."

Specific objectives and the SMART framework
Being specific is central to the SMART Goals framework. It's the first of five key points you need to articulate to achieve your goal. The five points of the SMART acronym are: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and limited in time.

Why is it important for goals to be specific?
Goals need to be specific to help us see what the road will look like to get there.
Too often, our goal is a blanket statement like "become more motivated," "stay resilient," and "strive for excellence."
if we write themparticularitiesof our goals, we can go beyond a general statement about our desires. Instead, we will be able to write down tangible things that show what success will look like.
